White Raven Down released their debut single "Take Me" late April 2018 along with a MUSIC VIDEO to an overwhelming response. Currently sitting at 21k views on Facebook and 11k views on YouTube. The track gained recognition and airplay from such credible radio stations as BBC Essex Introducing, Hard Rock Hell and MMH Radio. Radio play has been as broad as local independent stations/podcasts and as far as Rock On The Rise and Rock Rage Radio in the States and some additional
stations in Australia. Each time being met with glowing comments and new fans...
This set things up for the self produced debut EP "Conspiracy" that has been available from June 2018 and has been met with an outstanding reception from credible podcasts such as Down The Front Media, Midland Metalheads, The Nexus Music Blog and The Psychosin Project along with a Hard Rock Hell interview and Donut Eating Competition with Luke "Loki" Milne!
Reviews have again been overwhelming and the band have been recognised and rewarded with reviews in Power Play Rock & Metal Magazine, New Noise Magazine in Europe and Goldstar Rocks Magazine in the Stateside throughout the summer of 2018.
To mark the release of "Conspiracy" White Raven Down released their second MUSIC VIDEO to their track "Salvation" which was premiered by New Noise Magazine and again has been met with an overwhelming response with over 18k views.
This has been quite the year for the four piece band so far with people being unable to pigeon hole their exact place in the broad rock spectrum..... All we all know is that it kicks ass!!
As of April 2019 the band signed to independant music label WDFD Records less than a year after their first single dropped...
In November the band released a remix of "Not Alone" which was released on their debut "Conspiracy" EP after working with famed producer Romesh Dodangoda called "Not Alone [2.0]". Romesh's previous work includes Motorhead, Bullet For My Valentine, Bring Me The Horizon and Stone Broken. The remix was released with a music video that featured fire performers and received another overwhelming response currently at 20k views.
2019 saw the band have its introduction on playing festivals with appearances at Wildfire Festival in Scotland, Custom Rock and Blues Fest in Derbyshire, Ascension Festival in Wales, Aonia Fest iii in Sheffield and Hard Rock Hell Xiii in Great Yarmouth. The latter placing them on the same bill as international acts like Doro, Buckcherry, Michael Monroe, Diamond Head, Gun and Reef.
Some relentless touring has seen the bands fanbase grow very quickly. This was apparent when the band was voted #12 in the very well respected Great Music Stories radio show's poll for band of the year on Meridian FM with the poll drawing 30,000 votes across the 150 nominated bands.
Live the band are devastatingly BIG in their sound delivering the hooks, thrills and chills signalling a band on the brink of something huge....
With 2020 already looking like the rollercoaster is set to continue with some tasty shows, the band are working on their debut album...
Will - Vox
Instantly recognisable gravelly tones used both melodically and intricately...
Stu - Guitar
The guitarist that uses his Gibson SG's through his
customised guitar rig to play the role of both rhythm and
lead guitars. The riffs, the solos the guy who won't stand still...
Luke - Bass
The bassist that uses his Rickenbacker 4001 through Orange rigs and manages to play rhythm guitar duties whilst Stu plays solos....The man who holds it all down... ...
Tom - Drums
The percussionist that uses his Mapex acoustic drum kit to great effect. A true Czech power house who can rock, groove and tantalise those rhythms...
The Band's Name
The Band's name comes from a fable of a White Raven and a Bison...
The story goes that during a time of heavy flooding a Bison surrounded by rising flood water has accepted his fate of drowning as he is unable to find safety of higher ground.
Some time later a tired Raven flies overhead uncertain if he will be able to stay airborne for much longer and also faces the same fate of drowning as the Bison.
After an exchange of circumstances the Bison allows the White Raven to rest on his back until he drowns in the hope that the Raven can survive.
The Raven rests and profusely thanks the Bison for potentially saving his life when he takes flight. Several hours later the White Raven returns to the Bison who now is only just able to breath above the water. The Raven has a tree branch in its beak signifying higher ground is nearby and leads the Bison to safety.
The White Raven is considered to be a korvid bird of good fortune and luck.
White Raven Down is the polar opposite... The band name is a metaphor of bad luck...... and they've had they're fair share of it.
